Cecilia Chavez-Escoto
Dear Wendy,
Your mom, Almita had a special place in my heart. Although we spoke and saw each other intermittently through the years, I loved my cousin. There are special memories that stand out in my mind. The fun times we shared through our younger years at Abuelita Alejandrina’s home. The day she celebrated her quince años and how gorgeous and grownup she looked standing outside the church, smiling beautifully.
Through the years Almita would stop by my parents’ home (Tio Alberto and Tia Minky) to say hello, even if it was for a short stay. Alma was sweet, kind and generous with her time and affection! She even made a cake topper for my daughter Ariana’s quince cake to match her dress; how kind is that! I cherish the memories and I love her.
Wendy, I look forward to visiting with you and your children as the years go by.
With much love and affection,
Tia Cecilia
