Vern Gunderson
October 3, 1952 - March 3, 2022
Our beloved Vern sadly and unexpectedly passed away on March 3, 2022. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife, Christina Gunderson, daughters Lucelle Gunderson-Irven and Annalissa G Massey, step daughters Andrea Howell and Sara Balderas, several grandchildren, an adorable great grandson and sisters Cecilia Edgerton and Madeline Young. Vern was born in Alliance, Nebraska on October 3,1952 and raised by his father whom he adored. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 18, proudly served his country and traveled the world as an aircraft technician. He was a veteran of the Vietnam & Iraq wars. After serving honorably for 21 years, he earned his state license for barbering. A true country boy at heart, he settled in the beautiful hills of Campo, California. Always a fervent patriot and living embodiment of strength and respect, you could find him tinkering on one of his many projects at home or watching a classic Western with Tina, the love of his life. He was a humble and mild mannered man of few words, a gentle soul whose love knew no boundaries. A friendly face to all, his kindness & generosity not only extended to anyone in need, but to countless cats looking for a meal. He is also survived by his sweet cat Groucho, who is now Tina’s constant companion. Although we are heartbroken from his loss, we find comfort in knowing that he is resting in peace with the Lord and reunited with his loved ones who have passed before him, especially his father Cecil and sister Helen. We will always carry you in our hearts, through the memories we share, until we meet again in heaven.
