We will miss you Alberto! You were always sweet to me and my family. I especially remember on my 30th birthday when you and my grandpa Arne were standing on our balcony looking out over the canyon smiling and talking to each other. I don't think the two of you understood each other quite well (my grandfather having a thick Swedish accent), but you made it work : ) Everytime I had been to a family gathering and you said goodbye you added "say hello to grandpa!" Dad always celebrated us. There were the usual celebrated milestones: birthdays, graduations, jobs, moving across the country, welcoming babies. But even the normal and routine visits felt celebrated. The way he brought the folding table directly to us when it was time to eat, or how he made sure our cups were never dry. How happy he looked just sitting next to us and talking.

His voice was the loudest in congratulating a birthday. His presence accompanied until the end when visiting - literally, he would stand on the side walk until you left.

Small gestures, big impact.

Dad, thank you for all the beautiful memories you left us with, I will forever cherish the many Padres games that we went to from back in the Jack Murphy stadium days, God had a better plan for you and your mission is complete here, we will carry your memory and legacy forever, until we meet again, we got it from here Bigotes !! Dad,
You were always up for a picture. Anytime you were doing anything with any one of your kids, you were ready to pose and smile; so much pride in having those moments captured forever. You always wanted to see the pictures right away. " Mira, lo maximo. Para que tengas recuerdos de tu papi " me decías o " eso mero" o "queobola", something like that. Dad wanted us to take all the pictures we wanted to, because he wanted US to have those memories. That's just one of many intentional ways my Dad made sure to live in the moment and make a memory with your children and family.
Gracias Daddy por todo lo que me enseñaste ❤️ I love you por siempre.

This was such a fun day with my Mom and Dad in Julian. It was such a good day.
