I had the privilege of working with Adan for the two years we were stationed at MCRD San Diego together. He was an incredible and dynamic person who always found a way to make everyone he encountered smile and laugh somehow. He was loved and respected by his peers and those of us that earned the privlage to call him friend got to experience this on a daily basis. He is deeply missed and loved by everyone who knew him. I was privileged to have known and worked with Adan over the past year while he was employed at the VA Medical Center in NY. During his service as Peer Support, Adan had a profound impact on the Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn Program. His enthusiasm and passion for serving his fellow veterans was evident to all who met him. His work continued into his personal life as he pursued his love for music and service dogs. I will miss our long talks. He was genuine and caring and I?m a better person for having known him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. His legacy that includes a love for life and the journeys it may present if we are brave enough to accept its challenges will live on in us all.
