Albert F. AskewBirth Date: August 11, 1931 Death Date: July 4, 2019Albert “Al” Askew was born in Kimberly, Idaho. His family moved to Madera, California and later moved to Grants Pass, Oregon. It was there that he met the love of his life, Glenda “Blanche” Askew and married her in 1951. Al joined the Navy in 1951 and went to boot training in San Diego where he moved his wife and lived for the rest of his life. He served honorably in the Navy for 5 years and was a veteran of the Korean War. After the Navy, Al entered a career in various technological fields and other business ventures. He loved his family very much and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren and every chance he could get to hold them and play with them. He was well known for his passionate views, independent nature and skills in technology and being a skilled craftsperson. He was the go-to person for fixing computers. He loved to travel with Blanche and visited Fiji, Hawaii and Mazatlan. Al is survived by his wife Blanche Askew and their 3 children Beverly Pelletier, Dave Askew and Dale Askew, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In May 2019, Al and Blanche celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Al passed away on July 4, 2019 from COPD complications. He was surrounded by his family, was comfortable and at peace. Al lived a long, happy and busy life full of family that loved him. He would have been 88 years old on August 11, 2019. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
