CATALAN, Alejandro Landin's Obituary
Alejandro L. Catalan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, in San Diego, California, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 67 years old.
Alejandro was born on February 16, 1959, in Tijuana, Mexico, and later made San Diego, California his lifelong home. He dedicated more than 40 years of his life as a warehouse manager first at International Male, Incredible universe and ended with Fry's Electronics. He was known for his hard work, integrity, and commitment where he made a lot of good friends, and some have been like family.
Above all else, Alejandro was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord faithfully throughout his life. He was a longtime member of Centro Familiar Cristiano, where he served alongside his family for many years. He was a leader for Edad de Plenitud and faithfully led Bible studies at home groups, touching countless lives through his wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering faith.
Alejandro loved reading, worship, and spending time with his family. He was a passionate fan of the Raiders as you can tell and the New York Yankees, proudly supporting his teams through every season. Those who knew him will remember his strength, kindness, sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family and community.
He is survived by his loving wife, Aida Catalan; his older daughter, Prisilla Mata and her husband Edgar Mata, his younger daughter Alexandra Hendricks and her husband Nathan Hendricks; and his cherished grandsons, Eli Daniel Mata and Levi Esau Mata, and his granddaughter Victoria Faith Hendricks.
He is also survived by his siblings: Kris Landin, Irma Meza, Maria Santiago, Norma Saucedo, Jose Cardenas, Rafael Catalan, Manuel Catalan, and Daniel Catalan, along with many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and great great nephews and nieces.
Alejandro was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rafael Flores Catalan and Maria Cruz Catalan, who went to be with the Lord years before him.
Alejandro was truly a fighter until the very end — a good and faithful servant whose life reflected love, faith, and devotion. His legacy will live on through the many lives he impacted and the family he loved so deeply.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Centro Familiar Cristiano, located at 5901 Rancho Hills Drive, San Diego, California. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, 4300 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, California.
