Alicia Vasquez Anguiano's Obituary
Alicia Vasquez Anguiano, age 79, passed away peacefully in her home on July 14, 2015. She is loved and remembered by all who knew her. Alicia was born on February 12, 1936 in Mexico to her parents, Cristobal and Carolina Vasquez. She had six brothers and sisters, two of whom tragically died before Alicia was a teenager. After working as a pharmaceutical secretary for two years, she met Roberto Anguiano and married him at 20 years old. Alicia and Roberto built a warm, loving home in San Diego for their five children, where they lived for 57 years. Alicia was an amazing hostess who loved to cook, and her life was full of family, friends, and celebrations. She was an active, dedicated member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish for several decades, and was affectionately known by those close to her as the “Lady of the Flowers.” Alicia took the role of wife, mother, and grandmother as the most important calling and spent her life taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren. Alicia is now in Heaven with her siblings, parents, and husband. She is survived by her sister, Maria Elena Robalino, her five children and their spouses: Robert Jr. (Belia) Anguiano, Alicia (Eddie) Gonzalez, Caroline (Hugo) Rios, Fernando (Lisa) Anguiano, and Ruben (Ava) Anguiano, as well as her 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. All will cherish the memories of Alicia’s warm laugh, open arms, and giving spirit. “We know you are finally Home with your family and your Lord.” “His angel has gone home.” A Viewing and Rosary will be held from 5:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, at Greenwood Memorial Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 24th, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 4540 El Cerrito Drive, San Diego, CA 92115.
