Alma Hudson's Obituary
Alma Hudson, affectionately known as “Mother Hudson”Alma Hudson was born on April 7, 1921 to the late Cornel and Lady (White) Dixon in Macon, Georgia. Alma is the very last of the Dixon siblings.Due to family obligations, Alma’s formal education was limited. Her life’s experiences were more than an adequate substitute for her limited education. Alma was proud to be who she was.Alma was a woman who had many talents that she used. She worked as a housekeeper, school bus driver, nurse’s assistant and as a senior caregiver. She was always loving, caring, willing to help others and a trustworthy good worker. Alma was willing to take charge of any work task given. She was a born leader.In 1949, Alma was reunited with her best childhood friend and sweetheart, James Hudson, in holy matrimony. Alma had two (2) children, Sherry and Robert. Alma strongly supported and defended family values.Alma was unique and one of a kind. She was very direct when she would communicate with others. Everyone knew exactly where they stood with her. Alma always taught us that you could accomplish any goals in life if you were willing to make the effort. She was a woman who did not accept rejection or defeat.She had a smile that was genuine and infectious. Her smile could warm the hearts of most people around her. When she wanted to be, Alma was a charmer.Alma accepted Christ as her savior in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC). She led her family to the church to accept Christ as their savior. When she became a believer, Alma became an advocate for Christ and a missionary for the church. She was not ashamed to witness to anyone who would listen. Alma based her life around her belief in God. She was willing to serve God in any way she could. She would even conduct church and vacation bible school in her home.She was called and earned the title of “Mother Hudson” and serving God was the joy of her life. She was truly a praying mother and grandmother. Whenever there was a problem “Mother Hudson” would first pray for a solution.John 3:16 and Psalm 23 were two of her favorite holy scriptures. “Mother Hudson” seldom complained of the terminal cancer pains in her body. When asked how she was feeling, she would answer, “I feel fine.” “I am just holding on to God’s Hand.”On August 17, 2016, Alma Hudson was called home to be with her Lord and Savior.“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16Alma was preceded in death by her sisters: Annie, Dollie, Molly, Lady, Dove and brothers: Donelle, Marshall and Cornel.Left to cherish her memories and well deserved peaceful rest is her daughter Sherry Anderson and son Robert Hudson (Carolyn). Grandchildren and relatives cherishing memories are Danny Anderson, Eric Anderson, Marcus Hudson, Bryan Hudson, Shawn Robbins (Sue), Rachel Cooper (Robert) Betty Eubanks, James Hudson Jr., Joe Louis Hudson and many more.Alma “Mother Hudson” will be greatly missed by her family and friends who came to know and love her. She will always be a guiding light in our hearts that directs our paths to salvation.We will always love, “Mother Hudson”God Bless All of You………….
