Almeda Goins was born on December 18th, 1921, in Dayton, TN. Her parents were Charles and Nancy Goins.
Almeda married Robert Gray on December 20th, 1941. Almeda and Robert had 3 children, Neta Solomon born in Georgia, Jean Brown and Kenneth Gray, born in Tennessee. In 1951, Almeda and Robert moved from Georgia to San Diego where they had their 4th child, Robbie Nigro.
Almeda and Robert were married for 74 years before Robert went to be with the Lord in October 2015.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She had 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and spent her whole life in the church. She was a true servant. She was a pillar in many people’s lives and didn’t have a soul she didn’t love. She was known as “Granny” to all of those who met her.
On November 18th, 2024, 1 month before her 103rd birthday, Almeda entered the pearly gates of heaven and was reunited with the love of her life, family and friends.
Almeda was loved and will be missed.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park on Dec 5th, 2024.
