Her mother had been converted as a result of a divine physical healing. Mom followed in her mother’s footsteps accepting the Lord in baptism inl950.In about 1951, a young Samuel Cuadras saw her for the first time in the Apostolic church in La Palma, Sinaioa where she was busy cleaning the baptistry. This first meeting resulted in a marriage in 1955 which lasted 61 years. They had five children Griselda, Hector, Elizabeth, Drucila, Samuel, Jr.In 1957 Dad first came to Tijuana to seek employment in the brasero program. Mom followed in 1959 where they established residence in the Colonia Marron in Tijuana. The second employer Dad had was Brother J.C. Arballo. Who was serving as assistant Pastor to Pastor Pedro Hermositio in Otay. Brother Arballo turned out to be a great blessing to the Cuadras family/ in helping them establish employment and residency in the United States. For some time Mom worked as a supervisor for other women working at Bro. Arballo’s ranch. During this time Mom and Dad became faithful members of the Otay Apostolic church. After several years living in two different ranch houses on Otay Mesa the family was able to buy a house in Otay in 1968 where the family still resides. During this time she also worked in an Otay business making custom curtains and draperies. She also made tamales to sell to the employees at Montgomery Elementary School in Otay. She kept us children busy selling ranch tomatoes door to door for ten cents a bag.Mom became famous as a designer and provider of costumes for many years of Christmas plays at the Otay Apostolic Church. Her grandchildren among others wore the same costumes she created. Her most notable creations were the twoman walking camels and the full size burro upon which the virgin Mary rode down the center aisle of the Otay Apostolic Church. During this time of her life she served during the Pastorship of Pedro Hermosillo and Isidro Sepulveda. One of Mom’s great joys was traveling. Over the years she was able to visit Europe, the Caribbean on a cruise ship, many visits to Mexico, motorhome trips up the coast to Canada, many camping trips but the trip she enjoyed the most was her trip to the Holy Land where she walked where her Savior Jesus Christ walked. Her last years she spent cooking, sewing and tending her home and family. Her illness kept her from attending church or any other events. Her condition worsened until the day the Lord took her home on June 21, 2016.
