Amber Monique Moret's Obituary
Amber Monique Moret was born on August 5, 1988 at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Diego, California. The first of two children born to Jose and Terece Moret, she began her education at Longfellow Elementary School where she learned to speak, read and write fluently in Spanish. She then went on to O’Farrell Middle School and graduated from San Diego High School with an International Baccalaureate diploma. She furthered her education at San Diego State University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health in 2011. Amber enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing with children, especially her Godsons. It was music to her ears to hear Josiah say, “Godmommy!” Amber also loved to cheer and dance! She learned her cheering fundamentals at an early age while cheering for Skyline Pop Warner. She continued c h e e r i n g at San Diego High School where, with hard work and dedication, she became cheer captain her senior year. She began volunteering and giving back to her community at the early age of 5 years when she joined her neighborhood in feeding the homeless every Christmas day. At the age of 10 she continued her passion for caregiving by caring for both of her great-grandmothers. Amber’s teen years and early adult life were spent working at Build-a-Bear and Qualcomm, and spending time with family and friends. She was a finalist in an essay contest for Top Teens of America, sponsored by Lawrency Shiner, of Top Ladies of Distinction. As Amber advanced in her career, she embarked upon a position at Costco in the Optical Department as a licensed optical technician. After being employed at Costco for 7 years, Amber moved to UCSD Shiley Eye Institute in La Jolla, California. Amber was the most loving and understanding daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend. She would always tell you what you needed to hear, whether you liked it or not. She had a gift for bringing people together. She was the core of so many long lasting friendships from kindergarten through today. She had a serious belief in Jesus Christ. As an infant, Amber was christened in a service at New Creation Church by Rev. Amos Johnson with her god parents Bill and Dian Bonepart as her sponsors. She enjoyed services at the Rock Church, InSoul and New Directions Church. Her favorite bible verses are Philippians 4:13 and Jeremiah 29:11. Amber received her heavenly crown and wings on June 30th where she was met with the embrace of her Heavenly Father. Those that were there to meet her were her grandfather, Emilio Moret, great-grandfathers, Arthur Williams and Napolean Hancock, grandmother, Victoria Moret Pica, her uncles Paul and Lyre Hancock, great-grandmothers Mary (Mama Hancock) and Alberta (Big Mama) Williams. grandfather, Arthur Terrell Williams, and aunt Alyce Williams-Wilson. Left to mourn her loss are her parents, Jose and Terece Moret, her sister, Anisha Moret, grandmother, Patricia Williams, nephew, Anthony Emilio Cook, uncle Terrell Williams, great-uncles, Alvin Williams, Dean (Kerry) Hancock, Wayne W. (Arelia) Hancock. Her godsons, Josiah and Trey. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.
