Andres H. Avalos' Obituary
Andrés Higuera Avalos was born on November 30, 1925 at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California to his parents Pedro and Elvira Avalos. The first 17 years of his life he lived with his Grandmother, Herlinda Higuera on a farm in the city of Ensenada, B.C. It was at the farm where he learned how to hunt. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the US armed forces during World War II. When he completed his military service he began to work repairing the Roads of Baja California. Andres, widowed, with 3 children Sylvia, Julio(+) and Elvira, met Lilia Salas in Tijuana, B.C. and married in 1962 in The Church of the Nazarene. During his first year of marriage Andres was the primary cook in the home. He wanted to teach his new bride how to cook his delicious recipes just the way he liked them! As they began their family, 6 children were born: Maritza(+), Lilia, Elvia, Maricela, David and Moisés(+). He is survived by 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandkids. Andres worked several occupations. He was in agriculture, he was a mechanic and a welder. He loved to fish, hunt, cook and work the bee hives from which he enjoy organic honey. Andres Avalos accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1981. Andres Avalos was truly a great example to all his children. He taught them that you must work hard and that there is a solution to every obstacle we face. Thank you Dad.
