Angelina V. Alcoser's Obituary
Angelina V. Alcoser, formerly Valdez was born on May 14, 1939 in Zavala, Sinaloa Mexico. She was the youngest of five. She had four brothers, Lupe, Alvaro, Benito, and Jorge. She also had a sister Beatrice who perished at birth. Angelina immigrated to San Diego in 1960 where she found work cleaning houses in La Jolla. She later moved on and retired working as a cafeteria cook for the Diocese of San Diego at St. Jude’s Academy School/Day Care & Senior Center for the next 25 years. In 1960, she met Paul Alcoser Sr. whom she would later marry the following year on May 6, 1961. Throughout their 33-year marriage, they had five children. Both had a strong faith and work ethic to support their family. They were a loving couple who were inseparable best friends until Paul’s death in 1994. Angelina was a loving, kind, humble, and generous woman. She enjoyed dancing and playing bingo with her husband and friends in the early years. She also loved to cook. Her homemade flour tortillas, tamales, and barbacoa were legendary within the family, and those fortunate enough to experience her dishes. In her later years, she enjoyed being in the company of family and friends, an evening out at the casino, or playing Loteria at home. Angelina is survived by her 5 children, Maribel, Carolina, Alma, Paul Jr, and Guillermo, along with 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and her brother Jorge.
