Antonia Ramos' Obituary
Antonia passed quietly in her home this week, surrounded by her family. Antonia was born Antonia Flores-Moreno in Brawley, CA in 1925 to her parents Francisca Flores Moreno and Florention Moreno. Her Siblings were Juan Moreno, Luisa Moreno, Ramon Licon, Delores Estrada, and Olaya Estrada. At the young age of seventeen, Antonia worked in San Diego for Van Camp Tuna Cannery, and later for Bemon’s packing fresh vegetables. In 1952, Antonia was married to a U.S. Naval Sailor, Angel Ramos who valiantly fought in WWII and the Koren War. Antonia continued living in San Diego as a devoted mother and housewife. In the late 60’s, she returned to the workforce as A seamstress at Talia Ferro loated in the now called Gaslamp District. She worked there for approximately six years. Anotnia is survived by her sister, Delores Estrada Acosta, her brother Ramon Licon, as well as five children, Lupe Chavez, Luz Ramos, Lydia Sapien, Michael Ramos, Johnny Ramos, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was loved dearly and wil be missed by her family and friends. The viewing and Rosary will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park 4300 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, CA 92113 on Thursday, August 8th 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, burial Ceremony Friday, August 9th at 11:30 AM. After the burial, A celebration of Life Memorial for Anotnia will be held at Casa Guadalajara (Old Town) 4105 Taylor Street, San Diego, CA 92110 at 1:00 PM.
