Antonio Román's Obituary
Antonio “Tony” Román, National City, California, passed away on November 4, 2021, at the age of 73. Tony died peacefully with his beloved wife, their children and grandchildren by his side.
Tony was born in Durango México on June 7th, 1948, to father Juan Román and mother Dolores Márquez. The second eldest son of eight children, Tony didn’t have the opportunity for much formal education. He helped out
his family and worked as a butcher at an early age. His work ethic and desire to take care of his family led him to the United States in 1971.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alicia; daughter Thelma, sons Marco and wife Joyce; Johnny and wife Marisa; grandchildren Esteban, Christian, Johnny, Isabella, Joaquín, Emma, Avery and Jacob; siblings
Carmela, Miguel and Federico.
A visitation for Tony is planned for Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 5 pm to 9 pm. The visitation will be at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary, 4300 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, California. All are invited to
attend. The service will be Sunday, November 21, 2021, at 10 am at Iglesia Metodista Libre, 1902 Irving Avenue, San Diego, California. The funeral will follow immediately at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, people wishing to honor Tony’s lifelong commitment to helping the less fortunate in México can bring non-perishable items that will be donated to communities in need.
Antonio “Tony” Román, de National City, California, falleció el 4 de noviembre de 2021, a la edad de 73 años. Tony falleció pacíficamente con su amada esposa, sus hijos y nietos a su lado. Tony nació en Durango México el 7 de junio de 1948, de padre Juan Román y madre Dolores Márquez. Tony, el segundo hijo mayor de ocho hijos, no tuvo la oportunidad de recibir mucha educación formal. Ayudó a su familia y trabajó como carnicero a una edad temprana. Su ética de trabajo y el deseo de cuidar a su familia lo llevaron a los Estados Unidos en 1971. Le sobreviven su esposa de 51 años, Alicia; su hija Thelma, sus hijos Marco y su esposa Joyce; Johnny y su esposa Marisa; nietos Esteban, Christian, Johnny, Isabella, Joaquín, Emma, Avery y Jacob; hermanos Carmela, Miguel y Federico.
