Arthur John Conta's Obituary
Arthur John Conta June 17, 1919 – May 9, 2017Arthur Conta was born in Chisolm, Mn. He grew up during the depression and attended Itasca College. He joined the Navy in 1940 and was stationed in Norman, Oklahoma as a flight engineer. He worked at Solar Aircraft in San Diego and was a supervisor within the quality control department. In 1953 he settled in Lemon Grove, Calif. with his wife and three young children. In his retirement he enjoyed his favorite hobbies, which were wood working, gardening and planting vegetables. He would jar his own olives, make pickles from his home grown cucumbers and prepare sausage using his own secret seasonings. He was a loving father with a heart of gold. He is survived by his three adult children (Judy Moore (Tom), Mark Conta (Kathy) and Duane Conta (Sherry), five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. There will be a private family celebration of his life. He will be greatly missed by all.
