Arthur Johnson's Obituary
Authur Johnson was born in Bruins, Arkansas in 1929 to the late Albert and Magnolia Johnson. He was one of 12 children. Arthur confessed his faith in the Lord at an early age. He grew up on the Johnson farm. Later he enlisted in the army where he served his country for 2 1/2 years.
He was honorably discharged, after he got out of the army he took up residence in San Diego, CA where he found employment with the city maintenance department and with the San Diego baseball stadium.
After that, he met and married Mattie Rogers-Spikes. They were married for 35 years. Arthur lived a long productive and prayerful life. He loved fishing, gardening and taking care of the house that him and his wife purchased.
Arthur was preceded in death, by his parent’s wife, six brothers and one sister. Arthur leaves to cherish his memories, he four sisters: Maria Ward of Detroit, MI, Bobbi Powell of Forest City, Arkansas, Geraldine Benton of Memphis, Tennessee and her twin Earline Burton of Benton Harbor, MI with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be truly missed but not forgotten.
