Audrey L. Miller's Obituary
Audrey passed away on the evening of January 24th with family beside her. She is survived by her daughter Deann, son Jim, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, her young son Gary and grandson Ryan. She had been battling Alzheimer’s for many years and passed peacefully knowing she would soon be reunited with Paul and Gary.Born in Littleton Colorado, she lived on her Grandmothers farm until the age of 3 when her family moved to Southern California. She met the love of her live Paul Lyman Miller in high school in San Diego. They were married in 1945 while Paul was serving in the US Navy. They soon began a family and were blessed with 3 wonderful children. Despite the tragic loss of their oldest child at the age of 11, they stayed together and built a life in El Cajon where they lived for over 60 years. They moved to Menifee California after retirement. They were married for 72 years.Audrey devoted much of her time to the community and was instrumental in the development of the El Cajon/Santee community and the surrounding school district. Projects such as helping establish the Los Colinas Women’s Detention Facility and serving as a PTA president for many years she represented the school district at the state convention in Sacramento. She was always the room mom, the team mom, the chaperon on field trips and at dances. She volunteered at every opportunity to provider her children and other children with great educational and life experiences.She was an avid seamstress, crafter and painter. She began her own business called Unique Mice Dolls and created mouse dolls with various themes, characters and personalities. She expanded to toll painting and oil painting where she eventually became a teacher of the art as well. She passed the love of art on to her grandchildren and spent many hours with them in her art room.A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be greatly missed but always remembered.Services to be held at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary, 4300 Imperial Avenue San Diego 92113. Services begin at 1:00 pm with reception to follow.
