Sincere condolences from the Lincoln High Class of 1963 Reunion Committee
To Ann, Steve and Mr. Escamilla's family. My sincere condolences to you all. I was honored to attend the service yesterday morning and so glad I had an opportunity to hear of your dad's contributions to our community in the 40's, 50's and 60's.I really wish I had been able to meet him. May God continue to richly bless all of you as you carry on his fine work and represent him. Thank you for allowing me and Greenwood to help you honor your Dad and celebrate his life.
To Augie's family! I remember Augie! He contributed immensely to the development of age group Track & Field in San Diego. (Putting on running events for men and women age 40 and over). The first meting to plan these events took place in Augie's home. Sometimes Augie would serve as the announcer at the San Diego Indoor Track event at the Sports Arena. He was one of the first senior runners who could break five minutes in the mile. In a very real way, he was the San Diego Ambassador for age group (senior) Track & Field. In addition to all he did to promote sport, Augie was first of all a real gentleman and to me a good friend.Roger MartinDowntown YMCA
Augie was my gym teacher at Memorial Junior High and a great role model. Unlike most gruff "coaches," he was a caring, sensitive counselor who made a ositive difference in my life.
My condolences to Augustine's family he was an outstanding man and impacted many children in Bario Logan. I first met Augie at the San Diego Boy's Club and Memorial Jr High School; he was a great role model and will be missed.
Augie was a very positive influence in my life and was one of the finest persons I have ever known. I played on teams that Augie coached over 60 years ago. He joins so many of my team mates from that period that have since died. Maybe some of you might remember a softball team of 1950. The picture contains everyones signature. We were all better because of Augie.
Special condolences to all of Augie's family. He was a dear man and loved by many. We worked together in the counseling office for many years at San Diego City College. He was highly respected by all, devoted to students and he made us laugh a lot. He will be dearly missed.
God bless you family of Mr. Augustine. He would be very, very proud of you.Sincerely,
