Avery D. Myers' Obituary
Douglas Myers (Ajamu Fareed) was born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Myers on July 7, 1959 in San Diego, California. He was the 6th child of 12 children.
Avery grew up in Southeast San Diego, where he attended Memorial Junior High School andAvery graduated Patrick Henry High School, he also took courses at San Diego Community College. During his high school years he met Lisa Price of whom became his life partner of many years one child became of this union: Dah-Nishia Myers, and one grand child Paris Bowen.
In his younger years he maintained work in construction and security. Avery was smart he was a quick learner and was a master with mathematics, he also spoke wrote and taught Arabic fluently. Avery had many hobbies such as: art, reading, playing chess, and dominos and music one of his favorite songs was “Wildflower”, he also liked things that challenged and developed his mind, however what he most enjoyed and loved was playing cards and dancing with his mom on the weekends.
Avery was caring person , this was demonstrated by the loyalty he had for family and friends he was known to most as “8-Ball or Ave”.
Later in life Avery became a member of the Islamic belief, he then became Ajamu Fareed (warrior). He was dedicated and true to his faith, this was shown by him being constant with his study and consistent with his daily prayers beginning each morning @ 5am (All Praise to Allah).
On December 24, 2020 Ajamu Fareed was called home to be with Allah. He is preceded in death by: his (father) Robert C. Myers, (sister ) Belinda Myers Cloy, (sister ) Roberta Myers, (brother ) Bobby Myers, (brother) Michael Myers.
He leaves to cherish his memory: (Mother )Margaret Ann Myers, (Life Partner) Lisa Price, (daughter) Dah-Nishia Myers, (granddaughter) Paris Bowen, (two brothers) Danny Myers, Robert “Baby” Myers, (five sisters) Yvonne Myers, Denise Myers, Dana Myers, Danette Myers and Latashia Myers Cloy-Thompson and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.
