Interment was Monday, November 20th at 10 a.m. and attended by immediate family and one guest, Don Smith, and Greenwood staff including Melody Arin. Mom’s Living Bible was included with her as well carnations, “The Out of Towners” DVD, a sand dollar from Mission Beach, sand and a pebble from Torrey Pine’s State Beach and copies of photographs.
A ‘Celebration of Life’ was held on October 7th, 2017 at the Sun City Civic Association “Civic Hall” room at 11 a.m. Associate Pastor Jim Edwards of Revival Christian Fellowship presided over the “Celebration of Life” and oversaw the publication of the memorial bulletin. The event was organized by Claudine Sloane (daughter in law) and was attended by about 45 people. Music was provided by Kezia Cunalata and Krisnel Miraflor, students at Azuza Pacific University. Eulogy reading was by Keith Sloane (son). Psalm 21 reading by Jacob Hasid Sloane (grandson). Sharing of memories included Kathy Morgan (former daughter-in-law), Martha Munoz (housekeeper), and Claudine Sloane. The pastor read a reflection letter from Nate Schlatter, a former Sugar-N-Spice daycare youth who kept in touch for 25 years and now serves at Timber Bay in MN.
