Barbara Ann Ellertson's Obituary
Barbara Ann Ellertson-Seegmiller was born on February 24, 1931 to Morris and Marie Davies in Bountiful, Utah. She passed away on April 30, 2019. She lived in several cities in Utah, but most of her growing up years were in Provo, Utah, where she graduated from Provo High School in 1949. She married her high school sweetheart, Dean Ellertson in 1951 while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. They were stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi and Mather Field in Sacramento, CA. They moved to Provo where her husband attended Brigham Young University for two years then moved to Salt Lake City where she worked at Walker Bank, until her husband graduated from the University of Utah. They then moved to Mesa, AZ. and then to San Diego in 1960. They lived in Clairemont and El Cajon where her husband passed away in 1984. Barbara always wanted to be a stay at home mom and raise her children and she was bless to be able to do this. They had three sons, Gary, who passed away in 2017, David and Randy. Barbara loved being with her family and hosted most of the family holidays, etc. Each summer she would have the grandchildren come to her home in El Cajon for “Camp Grandma” where they all had a wonderful time. She worked at Valhalla High School in the attendance office for eight years. She then met and married Dr. J. Edwin Seegmiller of La Jolla, California in 1995. They were married for nearly 12 years when he passed away in 2006. They traveled worldwide and had many wonderful experiences and memories. She is survived by her sons David Ellertson (wife Tammye) Temecula, California, Randy (wife Maricela) San Diego, California, daughter-in-law Janice, wife of Gary, El Cajon, California, step-daughter Dale Maudlin, stepson Robert Seegmiller, step-daughter Lisa Taylor, step-son Richard Seegmiller and ten grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Barbara has always been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has held many positions in presidencies,teaching, music, etc.
