Barbara Jean Flynn, 86 years young, of San Diego, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 18, 2015.A mass will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Saint Mary Magdalene Church at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Greenwood Mortuary immediately following the mass. Reception will follow at Barbara’s home.Barbara Jean Flynn was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on February 16th, 1929. She married her “one and only”, P.G. “Mike” Flynn, at age 18 in San Diego, California. She was a proud Navy wife and mother of three. She shared her endless love with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. She dedicated much of her time to The Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Those who knew her loved her deeply and were humbled by her generosity. She was loved deeply and will be missed by so many.Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, P.G. “Mike” Flynn, parents, John and Mabel Shewalter, and sister, Maxine (Ray) Ford.Barbara is survived by her three children, Michael (Rebecca) Flynn, Karen (Ronald) Karel, Diane (Gary) Wallace, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister, Betty Riggins, and brother, Richard Shewalter.Condolences may be left on Barbara Flynn’s online Memorial Tribute: http://memorial.yourtribute.com/Barbara-Flynn/In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in her name.An Irish Blessing May the road rise to meet you.
