Barbara H. Hagen's Obituary
Barbara H. Hagen, a devoted wife, mother, and teacher at St. Luke’s preschool, passed away peacefully at age 86 in San Diego on August 14, 2017. Barbara was born to Earl and Marion Burns on January 22, 1931 in Denver, CO. She moved with her parents to San Diego in the mid-1940’s and later married WW2 veteran Earl Hagen. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and a multi-year President of the Women of the ELCA. She loved turtles, cross stitching, quilting, and baking and was a joy to all who knew her. Barbara is survived by her son David Hagen and his wife Sandra Hagen, her daughter-in-law Carmen Hagen, her grandchildren Amber Hagen, Sara Claxton, William Taylor, and Kelly Southerland, and her great-grandchildren Ethan and Keira Hagen, and James, Liam, and Taylor Southerland. Barbara is preceded by her parents, Earl Burns, Earl and Marion Collier, her spouse Earl Hagen, brother Bob Burns, stepbrother Ron Collier, stepsister Leslie Collier, and her son Glen Hagen.
