Beatrice Ponce Poblete's Obituary
Beatrice Ponce Poblete slipped the bonds of earth on July 27, 2020. Beatrice, or Bette as she was also known, was born in Ilocos Sur, the Philippines on August 8, 1935; the second daughter of seven siblings. She was married to a seaman and along with 4 children, emigrated to Southern California in 1969. She worked for the County of San Diego’s CAO for 30 years. She loved to travel, was an avid gardener, and had an uncanny ability to organize just about anything.
Through hard work and imagination, she built a life that would benefit both her immediate and extended family.
She was fluent in three languages and while proud of her Filipino heritage, this was not what wholly defined her. She faced challenges big and small with a determination that would invariably see her achieve her goals. She had her own mind and convictions that made her more than a wife or a mother or a grandmother.
She lived various but singular roles to those she loved in her life, but ultimately, she was always herself.
