Beth was our good, thoughtful friend for many years and kept in touch faithfully after she and Marty moved to Menifee. When we visited, she sent us off with Mandelbread. Beth encouraged me through many challenges, checking in and sending kind words and thoughts. What a terrible loss to all of us.
I meet Beth when she owned her travel agency in NJ . I deliver airline tickets for her. She inspired me to go to college and become a teacher. At night when after she put in a days work at teaching she would come to the travel agency and work till at least 9:00 at night sometimes later. She helped me get threw algebra.
She was the maid of honor in my wedding and like the sister I always wanted but never had.
Then she sold the business and we all worked for the new agency until she retired from teaching and moved to California. Before she left she gave me a statue of the fairy godmother from Cinderella and told me to remember her when I looked at it. Ironically that movie was on tv the night she passed away.
I visited her several times during the years. Marty Beth and I went to Disneyland and ate in San Diego at a Mexican restaurant with her best friends mom . She showed me all over and why she loved California so much. On anther trip we went San Diego wild animal park when I came out with my mom , and we got to feed giraffes and rhinos .
She helped me arrange a surprise trip for my parents to Ireland. She also put together other trips for me and was in the middle of putting together another one when this happened. A cruise down the Mississippi River.
Beth was the friend I could call at 12:00am because of the three hour difference. It was only 9:00 in California. She had the best advise and was a big part of the 35 years I knew her . I will miss her and I’m just glad someone was with her when it was her time to past on.

I became friends with Beth and Marty through my sister, Alysia Nelson. They were always so friendly and loving towards me as well as my family.Beth and Marty spent several Thanksgivings at our house. We enjoyed having them over and looked forward to seeing them each time. We will surely miss Beth and her beautiful smile and gentle way about her.❤️
Dear Beth,
From the beginning, your kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness shined through giving me a sense of trustworthiness. It was in those moments that I knew that you would always have my back and that I would do the same in return for you and Marty. Even though as a young girl I may have been oblivious to all that you and Marty had to offer, but as I got older, I learned how wise, intelligent, and caring you two really were. To start, you allowed me into your home. You spent time taking me out to dinner, spending quality time during the holidays (Passover, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, etc.), going to my dance recitals, award ceremonies, and school graduations. Also, you acknowledged my birthday with thoughtful cards and gifts. But most importantly, you showed me love. For that alone, I owe you the world. I cannot thank you enough for the kind gestures you offered to me for so many years.
You are such a strong, intelligent woman and I am truly honored to have you in my life. Thank you for making me feel important and valued. You are family to me; I am the first to know that blood does not mean family, love does. I am constantly thinking about you. I support you. I value our relationship. And I love you. My wish for you is to feel no pain and to be happy.

I met Beth in 1964 through Junior Hadassah. We were both going on a work/study tour of Israel. She lived in Queens, NY and the group was meeting in New York City. I was the only representative coming from the West Coast. I was assigned to her. I stayed at her home for a few days before the trip. Our travels together began when she took me under her wings and gave me my first experience on a subway going into the city, at night, just the two of us. I was apprehensive and she assured me it would be fun. We became friends quickly. We roomed together for 7 weeks in Israel. On our trip, Beth showed her poise and leadership after a visit with the former Prime Minister of Israel, David Ben Gurion. He showed his frustration when he was told we did not all understand Hebrew and he had to talk to us in English. Afterwards, Beth stood up and, in fluent Hebrew, gave a little speech thanking him for seeing us. He was so happy he invited her up to get a hug. When our trip was over, we went off to college; joined the workforce; and got married. She became a high school teacher and began a travel business. I think she and Marty saw the entire world.
We continued our friendship. We traveled to Hawaii with them for many years in a row. She made sure that we were included in all the perks available to her as a travel agent. Besides teaching, traveling, and her business, she played mahjongg and cards and baked. She was there for us to help solve everyday problems. When we spoke by phone, we could go on for hours, talking about life and laughing. We spent many Thanksgiving Days together, either visiting her NJ home, her CA home, or one year, we were in Santa Barbara and she surprised us with a full holiday meal from her home in Menifee to us in the hotel. Our children always wanted to be with Beth and Marty. They were witnesses for our daughter’s wedding. We even made up a special ceremony inducting them into our family.
We made plans to retire together in California, but in a twist of fake we moved to the East Coast in 1994 and a few years later She and Marty moved to the West coast. Beth, the caregiver, would visit my Mom in San Diego to check on her and take her out to dinner. We continued our friendship from afar. Beth planned a cruise for the two of us to finally spend a couple of weeks together in 2019. Then came her first bout with cancer and COVID19 arrived. We were introduced to Mahjongg online and played every Sunday for 2 hours and then we talked. She improved, and not one to give up, she again made plans for a cruise. But it was not to be. We had 55 wonderful years together.
