Bik-Wan Lam's Obituary
Bik-Wan Lam was born on December 7, 1921 in Guangdong, China. She immigrated to San Diego in 1977 with her husband and step-children. She reunited with her daughter in 1984 and helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked hard and possessed a strong sense of curiosity. She kept busy in her retirement by attending English classes until her 80’s and remaining active in the Chinese Evangelical Church and the Chinese American Association. She inspired a zest and fervor for life in those around her. She lived independently until she was 91. As her great grandson said, “she taught me the meaning of tenacity.” She died at the age of 95 on March 8, 2017 in San Diego, well-loved by her family. She will be missed dearly by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
