Vasilios "Bill" Xykis was born June 25, 1927 in Dihori,Greece to Spyro and Ekaterini (Karaindrou) Xykis. He was the oldest of 5 children; Eleni, Yiannis(deceased), Panagiota(deceased) and Kostas.
He met his wife of 62 years Kalliope (Margellos) Xykis, in Lidoriki and married in 1956 . They had 2 children: Spyro and Yiannis (who unfortunately only lived 8 days).
Bill and his family emigrated to the United States in July of 1967 to San Diego where he lived until his passing. Bill was a devoted Husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bill had an exemplary work ethic that enabled him from an immigrant without anything to accumulate and pass on a "periousia" (estate) to his family. Bill was a very generous and caring person.
Bill passed peacefully at home on November 16th, 2020 where he can join his beloved wife Kalliope in Heaven. Bill is survived by his son Spyro, grandchildren: Vassilis, Alexander and Kallie Xykis; his sister Eleni Velentza (92), his brother Kostas (80), along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. May his memory be eternal.
We love you Dad, Papou, Brother, Theo, Vassili.
