Blanca Estela Vargas' Obituary
Our beloved Blanca Estela Vargas was born in the year 1939. She lived a beautiful life, and we gather here today because we were blessed to be part of her journey. Blanca Estela was born in the coastal city of Los Mochis, Sinaloa Mexico in 1939. As many of you have enjoyed time with Blanca, you know that much of her love of life comes from her very early days in her birth home of Los Mochis, Sinaloa. All her life she loved laugh, dance, and listen to music. She was the life of all gatherings as a child and throughout her years. She would always share stories that in Los Mochis you feel LIFE (VIDA) and she carried it with her everywhere she would go. Blanca Estela moved to Tijuana Mexico and lived with her grandmother, mother and sister Delia. She enjoyed being around her cousins, friends and family as many were living in Tijuana, Mexico area. She attended school in Tijuana and enjoyed dancing in the flag cheerleading team. Her love for gardening and cooking begun while living with her grandmother and mother in Tijuana, Mexico. Around 1952 the family moved to San Diego, California. Blanca Estela was about 13 yrs. old and she attended the rest of her schooling in San Diego Schools. She graduated from San Diego High school in 1958. She successfully played for San Diego High Tennis team and Flag Team. Blanca Estela was never a women that every gave up. Successfully learned English, adapted to new cultures and friends and successfully became part of teams that were important in her life. As you all know Blanca, nothing ever stopped her. She enjoyed living and being around friends and family were her #1. She would spend countless weekends commuting to Tijuana, Ensenada, Rosarito with the occasion Sinaloa trips. Blanca never stopped, she lived life to the fullest and doing things she loved. The Blanca Estela story is only beginning…. She during this period met the man of her dreams. She just didn’t know it yet. Countless years of friendship. Blanca Estela unsure of Juan Vargas she finally gave him a chance. The love story begun, they dated for years, engaged 5 years and married 1968. This love story runs from 1958 to 1968. Hardworking, Independent, and talented is how Blanca Estela was able to successful be so accomplished and humble. In1969, she became a mom for the first time to her son Juan Vargas Jr. Blanca Estela not only was a mother, wife she also worked full-time as a lead cook for a convalescent home. Blanca Estela worked for 30 yrs. at St Paul’s, Manor in San Diego, Ca. She used her passion to learn and love for people to successful build a career in the Hospitality industry ending her career as a Food Service Dietician for over 300 patients daily. In 1972 she became a mom again to her daughter Blanca Bastian. Blanca Estela was now a proud parent of Juan and Blanca and the next chapters of her story begin. Blanca Estela was a parent that was always present in her children’s lives. She worked hours to accommodate her children’s schedules. She never missed an event, baseball game, softball game nor time with her children. She was always present and greeting you with a smile. She was an amazing wife. She made being a mom and wife seem easy. She cooked daily and made sure the house was taken care of. Blanca Estela was the True Gift of a person. Lets not forget Blanca favorite hobbies Gardening, Horseraces and her most favorite hobby Casinos. In 1993 another chapter to her amazing life begun. She was now a grandmother (Nana). Her first granddaughter was born. She continued to be blessed with a total of 7 grandchildren throughout the years. During this time approx. 1995 she retired from St. Paul’s Manor after 30 years of dedication. She now dedicated her remainder years to her Husband Juan (now deceased) her children Juan Jr. and Blanca Ana and her 7 grandchildren.Brianna, Isaac, Brittany, Jovanna, Isabella, Camila, Sebastian. Her lifetime journey of being an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, friends, and coworker was most definitely met throughout her lifetime. She was given the name of Dona Blanca due to the among of people that she changed their lives. The respect her community of friends and family is without a doubt a recognition of her love she planted while she was with us. Wherever Blanca Estela Vargas went people loved her. She was everyone’s friends. WE gather here today to thank her for giving us the gift of LOVE & LAUGHTER
