Cao Van Tran's Obituary
Cao Van Tran, 87 years of age, passed on Monday, May 8, 2023 in San Diego, CA. He was born January 2, 1936 in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, Vietnam to the late Thieu Van Tran and Tac Thi Pham. Cao was the fifth of ten children. He proudly served as a Major in the South Vietnamese Military. After the Vietnam War, he eventually moved to the USA, California in 1991.
Cao loved to cook Vietnamese food, had a sweet tooth, frequent the casinos where he played poker to keep his mind sharp. He enjoyed long walks on the bay and spending time with family, laughing and complaining about the little things, but always wearing a smile on his face. He was an easy going, generous, loving, caring and devoted person, husband, father, brother, granddad and friend, always thinking of others first. "To know him was to love him."
Cao is survived by his children, eldest son- Tom, only daughter - Amy with Son-in-Law - Taylor, third child - Joseph with Daugther-in-Law - Mivi and youngest child - Son. He is cherished in memory by his three grandchildren, Tyson, Naia and Abbe Tran.
