Carlos A. Valdes' Obituary
Carlos Augusto Valdes was born on June 12, 1937 in León, Guanajuato, Mexico and was the 3rd of 6 children born to Tobias Valdes and Maria Garcia. His mother passed away tragically when he was only 9 years old, leaving he and his siblings in the care of their father and paternal grandmother. As a young boy he demonstrated a curious mind and hardwork ethic. He tried his hand at boxing and also became the youngest person to serve as a Mexican Federal Agent, stationed in the city of Mazamitla, Jalisco.In the late 1950’s, while still a teenager, he migrated to Tijuana, BC, where the rest of the family would later follow. In the late 1960’s he migrated to San Diego, CA, in search of a better life for him and his family. Carlos was extremely hard-working, audacious, witty, charismatic, and a self-educated scholar. He excelled at various professions, as a sales man and entrepreneur. In the late 1980’s, he became a licensed hypnotherapist, a practice in which for many years he helped his patients overcome traumatic experiences, phobias and addiction. He and Rosa were avid travelers, he loved construction, to paint, to run, and to help others in any way he could.He will be remembered for his extreme generosity, wonderful sense of humor, and love for life, all of which were reflected in his beautiful smile and kind eyes. Carlos lived intensely, he was a loyal lifetime friend to many, a wonderful brother, father grandfather, uncle, and husband. He is survived by the love of his life, Rosa Elvira, his children, Sandra Alicia, Roberto Enrique, Charles Anthony, Alicia Maria, Carlos Angel, and 10 grandchildren who all adored him.
