Obituary for Mrs. Carolyn J. StittCarolyn J. Stitt was born on September 28, 1944 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to the late Collis Johnson and Ruby Sedell Johnson, who have both preceeded her in death. Carolyn received her early education in Okmulgee and graduated from Dunbar High School in 1963, where she received her diploma. Carolyn was a very popular young lady and loved to sing. Her talent won her many contests and commendations. As a result, upon graduation from Dunbar High, she matriculated to Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she met and later married her sweetheart, Otis Lawrence Stitt, Jr.Otis and Carolyn moved to Los Angeles, California and became the proud parents of Otis Lawrence III (Ifey) and Sean (Toni) Stitt.When the boys were older, Carolyn resumed her studies at California State University Dominguez Hills and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts.Carolyn was always a fun-loving, yet serious, wife and mother, always encouraging her children to excel in education. Both sons have achieved their education goals and pursued careers in Medicine and Phlebotomy.Carolyn has changed the lives of many young people, by encouraging them to stay in school and pursue their dreams despite what obstacles, trials and difficulties they may encounter.Carolyn leaves this world to spend a peaceful and joyous time with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her beloved parents, Ruby and Collis. She leaves behind her two sons, Lawrence from Columbus, GA and Sean from San Diego, CA; two daughters-in-law, Ifey and Toni; and three beautiful grandchildren, Sean Jr., Andrew and Olivia. She is also survived by three brothers, Collis (Marsha) from Centennial, CO; Earnest (Ramona) from Rancho Cucamonga, CA; and Franklin (Mary Ann) from San Francisco, CA; nephews Eric, Franklin and Jonathan; and nieces Rachael and Laura as well as a host of devoted family and friends.
