Cathrine M. Navarro's Obituary
Cathrine Marie Eldridge Navarro, 48, of Chula Vista, CA, died Saturday, May 19, 2018, in Potrero, CA. Born May 7, 1970, at Paradise Valley Hospital in National City, CA, she was the first of eight daughters of Wesley Ray Eldridge of Ramona, CA, and Vivian Ramirez Laurin of Chula Vista. She graduated from Sweetwater High School in National City in 1988. She worked locally as a purchasing agent for the military, after which she became a homemaker and raised five sons in Chula Vista with their father, Alberto Navarro IV.Her love of gardening and homemaking eventually led her to pursue a career at the Home Depot in Eastlake, where she earned a solid reputation as a supervisor in the home-improvement department and made many friends. She also participated in a company program designed to help veterans obtain housing. A woman of strong faith and a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in San Diego, CA, Cathy was a very loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend.Words used to describe her have included “Mum”, happy, bubbly, outgoing, caring and loving. She enjoyed driving, listening to ‘80s music, going to the casino, tending her rose garden, cooking and helping others. She was very close with all of her sisters and her mother was her queen. The most important events in her life were graduation, her wedding, the births of her sons, and motherhood.She had a wonderful sense of humor that was understood by all who appreciated her gift of gab, and leaves a rich legacy of love, life, laughter and family. She had no trouble telling others what she thought and you definitely knew where you stood with her. She always wore a big smile wherever she went and constantly went out of her way for those in need. She never left anyone out and her door was always open. She expressed herself through her art, and she had a deep love for her dogs, Jameson and Indica.She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Louis Ramirez Sr. and Ramona Jorquez of National City; paternal grandparents, Theodore Eldridge and Cathrine Henne Eldridge of Spring Valley, CA; uncles, Reuben Ramirez of San Diego, Ted Eldridge of Spring Valley, and Scott Eldridge of Spring Valley; and an aunt, Sylvia Calderon of El Cajon, CA.She is survived by her loving sons: Stephen Navarro (Jessica), Alberto Navarro V (Beverly), Christopher Navarro, Manuel Navarro and Ismael Navarro, all of Chula Vista; her sisters, Christi Ramirez of Chula Vista; Charisse Eldridge of San Diego; Chaundice Eldridge of Chula Vista; Cecilia Eldridge of Chula Vista; Denise Eldridge of San Diego; Wesleigh Eldridge of Charlotte, NC; and Rebecca Eldridge of San Diego; a stepsister, Lisette Laurin Salcedo (Enrique) of Spring Valley; her parents, Wesley Eldridge and Vivian Laurin; her stepfather, Tom Laurin; an uncle, Louis Ramirez Jr.; two aunts, Annete Ramirez of National City, and Diane Golingan of Oceanside, CA; her fiancé, Marco Cisneros; numerous cousins; 11 nieces, 16 nephews, and one great-niece, Isabella Rose Morgan (newborn).Please click on SERVICE DETAILS to learn about her funeral services.
