Uncle Charlie always made me laugh! I remember what I think is the first time his family visited us in St. Joseph, Missouri. I remember it well because he did magic tricks for us. I was blown away! I knew it was more sleight-of-hand than magic, but I thought it was so cool. I began to beg my dad to let me buy some magic tricks, so I could be like Uncle Charlie. Dad hated to waste money, so I'm sure he was reluctant, but he let me buy a cheap magic ball trick at a local store. I practised and practised, but my hand was too small to perform the trick well, but I knew I wanted to be a magician just like Uncle Charlie. In fact, I probably thought that was his job and didn't consider that ooit was probably a hobby of his.
Anyway, Uncle Charlie was a very kind and generous man, and he will be missed.
