Cheryl Ann Stewart's Obituary
Cheryl Ann Stewart (Witten), age 55, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 with her family and friends at her side. Cheryl was born in Beaufort, SC on November 19, 1961 to Patricia and Harry Witten. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School in San Diego in 1979. Cheryl went on to work at Alvarado Parkway Institute Behavioral Health System for the past 17 years where she worked her way up and most recently, proudly served as the Director of Addictive Disorders Department. She was a very caring and compassionate person, committed to helping those in their path to recovery. Family, friends, and the beach were Cheryl’s passion and delight. Cheryl treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was always prepared for a trip to the ocean at a moment’s notice, enjoyed traveling anytime she could, and loved a good adventure. Cheryl loved to laugh and her laugh was infectious to those around her. She was also devoted to her faith, enjoyed reading the bible, and went to church often. Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Patricia; as well as her sister, Pamela Kay Witten. Cheryl is survived by her brothers Jim (Cam) and Greg, sister Jennifer (Rick); children Tiffany (DC) and Kory (Megan); stepdaughter Natasha (Jeff); grandsons Dean, Ollie, and Thomas; granddaughter Kaydence; and her loving husband of 22 years Charles “Chuck” Stewart, all of San Diego. Cheryl also leaves behind numerous other loving relatives. Cheryl touched the lives of many people and will be remembered for her generous heart. We are so proud of the woman she was. We love her and miss her more that words can express.
