Dear Steffan family. Sorry for your loss. Curly will be deeply missed. Riding in the back of the 1961Ford wagon to go surfing at OB with your whole family are some of my best memories. God bless you all. Chuck Haley.
Ah, Curly! So sorry to learn you left us too soon! I remember you well and the funny, friendly, great guy you were! We met at the Quinlivans in 1967 and I took an immediate liking to you! I think of your Dad and Mom frequently and how much fun I had at your house playing poker in the old days. Rest In Peace old Buddy!
We just heard this tragic news. My sister and I have such fond memories of Curly as we all grew up on Streamview. Our sincere condolences to all the Steffan siblings and to dear Gerry. The Quinlivans
Clair made me laugh. His stories will not be forgotten and neither will he.
Clair was the kindest, strongest, and most charismatic person I have ever met and I have met my fair share. He also had the strength and a grip / handshake like no other and ALWAYS ALWAYS looked you in the eye and genuinely cared about what you had to say. They just don't make them like that anymore. This is a painful loss, gone too soon, but lived his life enjoying and appreciating every moment. Rest in Paradise and Godspeed buddy ;'( If I can help with anything at anytime please say so in Clair's honor I would do ANYTHING. Mike Orr
The Sorrento Valley Racquetball & Fitness Center family of members give our condolences to the family of Clair Steffan. Sylvia and family, he was truly a great racquetball player and an even better person. He will be missed by all of us here.
My brother was the easiest, most friendly person to talk with. He genuinely loved people and truly loved his family. Matthew and Mason have a challenging future but their mother and father have given them a firm foundation to begin their lives. We sometimes believe in the wrong heros, but clair's courage, strength, and love make make him my hero.Michael Steffan
Sylvia, Clair was passionate, gregarious and full of so much life! He knew what was important – his best friend (you) and your wonderful boys. So many of us get misguided, but Clair knew what was truly important. I saw it in him every day as your neighbor and your friend. I can only imagine what a great son and brother he was as well. I will always have fond memories of him. Sharing a glass of excellent red wine on your porch and then a game of ping pong with him will always be a cherished memory. Matt and Mason, you have a full and exciting life ahead. You are just starting out and finding out what is important to you. Your Dad helped you get this far and will always be a guiding light for you. Look up in the sky…he is watching over you. Make the most of your God given talents and know that your Dad will always be there for you. His spirit is strong. Make him proud and take care of your Mom – she is your rock. Seek out what truly makes you happy and always do something for others – it will pay you back in ways you will never imagine. Stay positive and pick yourself up when you fall down. This was the essence of your Dad. He choose a beautiful and heartfelt woman in your mother and they created a wonderful family – that you should be proud of!Your Friends – Mark, Chris, Corey and Luke Brown
Bob, Carol and Genevieve Steffan feel that the service was essential Clair. Silvia, you were the essence of grace and welcoming to all. The life of Clair and his good character was expressed superbly and with subtle passion in the four brief memorials. The Minister gently cloaked him in a loving faith and captured his strength of belief.I met my brother in that room, through the words offered at the service. I knew him for sure, but at the service my heart was opened to Clair's living days; his love for; you, his family and goodness. The essence of Clair is duly noted here in my heart as ?SPECIAL? and far above ordinary. Bob Steffan
