Clareatta Wayne's Obituary
Clareatta Horton Wayne was born March 24th 1924 m Henderson, Texas located in Rust County. She was one of 9 children born to Amos Horton and Josephine Strong Horton. After losing both parents at an early age, she found her way to California on August 12th, 1945.She worked as a food server at the Greyhound bus station and a housekeeper. Clareatta’s love for children led her to become a foster parent. She cared for several young children for many years before marrying Harvey Tribble in 1949, he preceded her in death in 1964. In 1965 she married Charles Alien Weathers Bell. Together they adopted two daughters whom they named Barbara Jaye Bell (Tasha Davis) and Doraine Faye Bell (Doraine Bell-McCullough), Mama was affectionately called “Big Mama” by all five of her grandchildren and took pride in spoiling them. Later in life, she married Joe Willie Wayne, who preceded her in death m 2007. Mama had a wonderful walk with the Lord, she attended Pilgrim Progressive Baptist Church and then later joined Community Missionary Baptist Church with tier family. She was active in the church, attended regularly and loved singing in the choir. Clareatta was the matriarch of the Horton family, always reaching out to all of her sisters, brothers and their children. When they were young she always came to visit with gifts, hugs and laughter. When she was with her siblings you knew there was going co be a lot of laughs and jokes. She would make them laugh so hard they would be crying. She enjoyed her weekly conversations with her sisters Lovie Lee Gilliam of Desert Hot Springs, California and Wyvorn Hooker of Pomona. California as well as her cousin Cornell Horton. of Chicago, Illinois, her niece Minnie McGee of High.l.and, California, cousin Naomi Dansby of Henderson, Texas, her nephew Frank Ernie Lee Banks Jr. of Palm Springs, California, cousin Bennie Gene Hutchinson of Dallas, Texas, nephew James Hicks of McKinney, Texas, cousin Ola Williams of San Diego, California, nephew Sonny Tribble and the Tribble and Wilson families that kept in contact with her from Indio, California. She always spoke of those that kept: in contact with her all. the time and she loved Co hear from chem. Preceding her in death are brothers Joe Nathan Horton, Jimmy Horton, Wilford Horton, sisters Albennie Horton Howard, Mozzie Lee Horton Parker, Catherine Horton and Velmary Horton Carroll, She leaves two daughters Tasha Davis of San Diego, California and Dorame Bell- McCullough of Fort Worth, Texas, five grandchildren: BnEni Juliette McCaskill(27), ClaireAnne Nichol McCaskill(22), Jovani Elisha McCaskill(20), Trevor Charles McCullough(9) and William Michael McCullough(8). Also remaining are her two loving sisters Lovie Lee Horton Gilliam of Desert Hot Springs, California, Wyvorn Wilson Hooker of Pomona., California, Sister-in-Law Pearlie Vee Scott of Dallas, Texas as well. as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
