Cody Christopher Sasher's Obituary
Cody Christopher Sasher February 3rd, 1992 – May 5th, 2016Cody Christopher Sasher passed away unexpectedly on May 5th, 2016 in an automobile accident while driving to his job as part of the Ground Crew and Helicopter Traffic Control team at Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours in Tusayan, Arizona. He was 24 years old. Born on February 3rd, 1992 in San Diego, California, Cody was a natural-born musician and started playing the guitar when he was 7 years old and never stopped. He loved to take apart his guitars and rebuild them. He would change the pickups and knobs; repainting them from time to time and putting them back together again. What he loved most was to just sit and play, alone or with friends. It didn’t matter as long as he had his guitar and a pick in his hand. Cody had a passion for reading and from an early age he would read anything that he could get his hands on; everything from Calvin and Hobbs to the great American writers such as John Steinbeck and Jack Kerouac to the works William Shakespeare and Ernest Hemingway. He loved quoting lines from his favorite books to the people he worked with because he said it was fun to watch them stop and think about what he had just said. Cody aspired to be a writer and had started to write his first novel, to which he never got the chance to finish. More recently Cody took up fishing and loved the time spent with friends trying to land ‘the big one’. He had many stories of the one that got away, as well as funny stories of their time on the water. Cody is survived by his parents, Greg and Kimberly Sasher, Paula and Kevin Kraemer; his siblings, Amanda, Meghan and Kaeden; his grandparents, Gene McFadden and Joan King, Ronald and Andrea Sasher.Cody was loved by many and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
