Con gran pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de Consuelo Aceves Banaga, de 84 años, de Chula Vista, California. Falleció en paz el 12 de mayo de 2026, rodeada de sus hijos, nietos y seres queridos. Nacida el 30 de octubre de 1941 en Ensenada, México, hija de Maria Luisa Banaga y Brigido Aceves, Consuelo fue la menor de 16 hermanos y la última sobreviviente de ellos. Se mudó a San Diego a principios de la década de 1970 junto al amor de su vida, el fallecido Antonio Romero, donde formaron una hermosa familia. Consuelo fue una matriarca dedicada, a quien le sobreviven sus hijos y sus cónyuges, 14 nietos y 25 bisnietos. Conocida por su apasionado amor por los San Diego Padres, rara vez perdía la oportunidad de ver o asistir a un juego; el equipo y sus jugadores eran una parte central de su vida.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Consuelo Aceves Banaga, 84, of Chula Vista, California. She passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Born on October 30, 1941, in Ensenada, Mexico, to Maria Luisa Banaga and Brigido Aceves, Consuelo was the youngest of 16 children and their last surviving sibling. She moved to San Diego in the early 1970s with the love of her life, the late Antonio Romero, where they built a beautiful family. Consuelo was a devoted matriarch survived by her children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. Known for her passionate love of the San Diego Padres, she rarely missed a chance to watch or attend a game; the team and its players were a central part of her life. We invite you to join us in honoring her memory.
