James Connell
There are so many fond memories of my mother. Growing up we did not have a lot of money. We were never hungry or struggling to have clothes on our back. Some of my clothes were made by my Mom. She made jeans, polo style shirts, shorts, pajamas, etc. If she could, Mom would have made my shoes. I never left the house not fed or not neat and clean.
She was strict but a good strict. I was
not allowed to hang out far from the
neighborhood and with only certain
guys. It's like she knew how to keep me
out of trouble and put the fear of God in me. I would continue to get the business from the guys for being so obedient to
my Mom's strict rules. After looking back though I got a lot of respect from them as they continued to want to hang out.
It's my Mom (and Dad) that shaped me
into being a good person from a very
young age. Teaching me to treat all with dignity and respect, no matter who you were. I still value that to this day. In summary, I grew up in a loving home that I never questioned. My mom always understood me, and our conversations I will cherish forever. Nobody but me and her know of those talks we would have. I know there are those that question my love and caring for her. It is more important to me, not others, the love I had for my mother and the fact that she knew how much she meant to me. Mom I love you and will always have in my heart the love you have for me. I know you are now at peace without suffering, and that keeps me at peace. The Lord, and our family, has gained another
angel.
