Corbie Polk Jr.'s Obituary
Corbie Polk Jr., born March 9, 1937, passed away August 15, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Whigham, Georgia. He joined the US Navy in 1955, serving as an Aircraft Mechanic throughout his career. He served on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War and retired in 1975. He then began his second career as a self-employed Mobile Mechanic, working on diesel semi-trucks until retiring.
He met his wife JoAnn in December of 1958 on a blind date, while stationed in San Diego, CA. They were married on January 13, 1962. Once retired, they bought a motorhome and loved to travel to Oklahoma and Georgia to visit family.
He was a member of Casa de Oro Bible Church in Spring Valley California where he volunteered with church maintenance for many years. He was well loved by his church family.
Corbie is proceeded in death by his parents Corbie and Lucille Polk, his wife JoAnn Polk, sisters Dorothy and Betty Polk, brothers Larry, Roscoe, Carroll, Randall, and Wallace Polk.
He is survived by his sister Emily Eubanks and brother Gerald Polk of Georgia. His son Todd Polk and daughter Kimberly Shull, and son in law Gary Shull. Two granddaughters Amber and Laura Shull.
