Corky G. Gilliland's Obituary
Corky was born in Coronado, California on June 1, 1938 as “Guy George Gilliland” to the parents of Raymond and Lois Gilliland. Corky was the 3rd child of 4 children in the family. He went through school to the 10th grade, and then he started working in the construction industry to help the family. His specialty was plastering, and he ended up having his own plastering company. Corky tried his hands at different things, but retired in 2005 with about 50 years of plastering experience.Corky fell in love with Margaret Courter, and they were married on March 4, 1962 in San Diego, California. They have 3 children of their own: Jannette G. Moffitt (daughter), Nannette M. James (daughter), and Raymond Loren Gilliland (son). They are also the proud grandparents of Tiana H. Gilliland. Corky loved his family. His kids were his pride and joy. He would have told you that the most important event in his life was the birth of his children. He was a caring and generous father who loved spending time with his kids.Corky enjoyed quite a few things in life. He loved his friends; according to Corky’s friends, he was a very honest and loyal friend. He also enjoyed classic cars and watching sports. As far as music goes, he loved Rock-n-Roll and Country Western. He will be missed.The family has scheduled a small private service for Corky.
