One memory that stays close to my heart is the day we were in Chula Vista, and Daniel took me on a walk to the mall. We stopped at Burger King for a quick burger, just the two of us, and then wandered through the mall together like we didn’t have a care in the world. It wasn’t a fancy day, but it was one of those simple, perfect moments. a reminder of how safe and loved I felt with him by my side.
Now, as I stand here without the family I grew up with, I carry Daniel in my heart. I hold onto the stories, the laughter, the quiet understanding between us, and all the little things that made him who he was.
Though I am the only one left from our immediate Moms side of our family, I am not truly alone. I carry their memories with me, especially Daniel’s in every step I take, in every breath of strength I find.
“Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day… unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
Rest in peace, Daniel. You are loved beyond words, missed more than you’ll ever know, and remembered always ❤️
Love,
Your little sister Deb
