Daniel Staten's Obituary
Daniel Steven Staten peacefully passed away and entered the arms of Christ on September 30th, 2019. Daniel leaves behind two loving parents Reid Staten and Lisa Gardner, two loving step parents Steve Gardner and Laura Booth, and five siblings. Jeffery Staten, Lindsey Booth, Amanda Gardner, Billy Gardner, and Sarah Staten, and two grandparents, Chester and Sharon Hacker, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Daniel is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Margaret Staten. Daniel leaves behind numerous other family and friends.Daniel was born September 28th, 1985 in San Diego, CA. Daniel showed his intelligence through his engineering skills and creativity at a very young age. Daniel showed interest in everything life had to offer and never cared what people thought. Daniels mother Lisa Gardner taught Daniel to love others which developed Daniels core value in life to just be yourself and love others for who they are. Daniels dad, Reid Staten instilled a love for sports in him as well as the value of teamwork and dedication. Through Daniels involvement in sports he developed lifelong friendships. Daniel was involved in baseball, football, wrestling, tennis, golf, and hockey.Daniel, his brother Jeff, and cousins Milinda and Tommy along with Daniel’s best friend, Chad, spent many wonderful summers playing in the fort that they built on the side of their grandmother’s house. Daniel’s love for his grandma and hers for him was evident to everyone who knew them. Making it only fitting that they now can rest together.Daniel enjoyed new challenges and ideas, making new friends, and visiting new places. One of his favorite things to do was to meet new people and build relationships that allowed others to experience genuine laughter and love. Daniel is a 2003 Kearny High School graduate. Daniel will be remembered for his talent to make anyone laugh and smile. Daniel had a heart for others, bringing people of different backgrounds together to enjoy life.At 18, Daniel joined his step father Steve Gardner in the plumbing trade. Daniel excelled as a plumber quickly and he was given his own plumbing truck 8 months later. Daniel worked as a plumber for 6 years.Daniel often said his greatest accomplishment in life was being a good big brother to Jeffery, Lindsey, Amanda, Billy and Sarah. Daniel will continue to watch over them from heaven. Daniel was a devoted uncle to his nephew, Jeffery Allen Staten Romero, and niece Jerilynn Diamond Romero. Daniel had a deep love for all children he could always be found at any event with the children, making them laugh, feel safe, and teaching them how to play sports. Daniel also enjoyed spending time with his family camping, riding SeaDoos and quads and skiing in the mountains. His goal in life was to have fun, and be free.Daniel will never be forgotten. And always in our hearts.
