Daralath Phayouphone Chanthabandith's Obituary
Daralath Phayouphone Chanthabandith was born on September 26th, 1980 in San Diego, California at Kaiser Hospital on Zion. She is survived by her husband Sompheth Chanthabandith, parents Somsavinh and Marilyn Phayouphone, identical twin sister Darany Phayouphone Le, and younger sister Daramone Phayouphone Butterfield. Over the summer of 1996, at the age of 15, she met Sompheth. After twelve years, they were married on August 3rd, 2008 in San Diego. Daralath was part of the graduating class of 1998 from James Madison High School. In high school, she got her first job at Longs Drugs/CVS and has continued to work there for over the last 12 years, where she eventually became a store manager.Daralath enjoyed the simple things in life which consisted of mostly spending time with family and friends. Some of her favorite things to do were bowling, tanning at the beach, reading novels, fill in crossword puzzles, snacking, and cross-stitching. Her travel adventures always included a printed itinerary that started from the moment she arrived. Those who knew Daralath know her to be a genuine person who was organized, a junk food lover, notoriously blunt, yet loving, soft hearted, selfless, giving, and compassionate.On April 13th, 2013, Daralath was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia with the Philadelphia Chromosome. Courageously, she declared war with her cancer and fought tirelessly like a true warrior. She never stopped smiling, loved visitors, still talked about future plans, attended social events when she was able, and kept up her hobby of extreme couponing. During the early morning hours on May 19th, 2014 Daralath passed from complications of pneumonia from a weakened immune system. Daralath has touched many lives and will never be forgotten.
