My memory of Darlisa was at Lincoln High School when I was a Jr. Varsity Cheerleader. Darlisa was on the Varsity Cheer Squad. As JV Cheerleaders we looked up to the Varsity squad. Darlisa was very beautiful inside and out and set the best example as an upper class mate. I didn’t get the privilege of knowing her really well but the brief conversations told me she was an amazing person. My older brother was good friends with her brother La Carter. Rest in Heaven Alumni Cheerleader.
Our families moved to San Diego the same year. We were next door neighbors. As newbies we shared fun times together walking to and from Gompers Middle School. The Long walk seemed short with the funny stories and giggles.
