David L Bolger's Obituary
He has gone to his final reward. He was a native San Diegan. David was on one of the first Little League teams (representing Ryan Aeronautical) when it started in 1946. He loved sports and played throughout most of his life. He particularly liked playing Over-the-Line with friends.
He graduated from Hoover High School in 1958. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany for 2 years.
Upon his discharge he returned to San Diego, married and had 3 daughters. David followed his father's footsteps and worked in aerospace all of his career.
We met in 1977 when our two youngest daughters played soccer and softball together. By 1983 we were both single and the same daughters got us together. in 1984 we married and blended our family of 7 teenagers: Lowen Julio, Tom Twelmeyer, Brigitte Sheets, Terry Mathis, Janine Taeatafa, Karen Roman and Donna Smith. They have given us 12 grandchildren and 19+ great-grandchildren.
During our 38 years of marriage he taught me how to play golf, how to catch fish (both reel and fly fishing) and what fun camping could be. We traveled across the country before settling in Sun City in 2009. I am thankful to God for giving David to me and look forward to joining him when my journey is done.
"Good night, sweet prince, and flights of angels fly thee to thy rest" (Shakespeare)
