Decideria Lela Jensen's Obituary
Decideria Lela Jensen, age 81, of San Diego, California passed away on April 13, 2026. She was born on October 28, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Ricardo and Maria Quinones. She was known to those closest to her as Lela, Mom and Nana.
Lela will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her love of music, her spirited nature and her incredible sense of humor. She loved watching movies, trips to Disneyland, spending time at the beach and outings at the zoo (okapis were her favorite) and playing Uno and Yahtzee, to which she had an uncanny knack for winning almost every round. Throughout her life, she kept a strong Catholic faith.
She is survived by her children, Jeanne (Bob) Gibbs, Pedro Vela III, Lisa (Steve) Durso and Johnny Jensen. Also her grandchildren, Matthew Gleason, Madeleine Bireley, Elizabeth Jensen and Lauren Durso. Lela is preceded in death by her son, Desiderio Ezequiel Vela. A celebration of Lela's life will be held on May 15, 2026 at 1 PM at Greenwood Memorial Park, 4300 Imperial Ave., San Diego, California 92113
