Delia Borja Godsey's Obituary
Delia Borja Godsey passed away of complications related to a ten year battle with lung cancer on April 9th 2023 at Jacobs Medical Center, La Jolla, California. She was 64 years old. Her family is deeply saddened by her unanticipated sudden passing. Delia was born Delia Borja Tagab on June 22, 1958 in Surigao Province, Republic of the Philippines.
Delia is survived by her husband Dean Godsey, her brothers Rolando Tagab, Raul Tagab, Ruel Tagab, Randy Tagab and her Sisters Nena Alago and Riza Sumagang.
Delia was predeceased by her parents Ceferino Tagab and Silveriana Tagab, and Brother Robert Tagab.
Delia graduated from Manuel L. Quezon University of Manila, Philippines in 1984 receiving a Bachelor’s in Banking and Finance.
She moved to Long Beach, California in March of 1987, making a career in Banking until her Retirement from the Navy Federal Credit Union in Eastlake Chula Vista in December of 2020. Delia moved to San Diego with her husband in 1991.
Delia loved life, she loved laughter, she loved people. If you were in her circle of many friends, she loved and cherished you unconditionally. She loved to travel with her husband having adventures all over Europe and Asia. She fell in love with succulents and orchids and transformed their backyard into a living paradise. She would never let age or illness interfere with her ability to experience life on her terms. She kept her Illness a secret from many but her closest because she wanted no sympathy. She only wanted to live in the moment with the people that made her happy.
Delia leaves a legacy of love, passion and extraordinary courage. She was the light in all of our lives and she will be forever missed.
