Dennis Earl Hughes, a devoted father and generous soul, passed away on November 16, 2025, at the age of 65.
Born in Texas on December 24, 1959, to his mother Barbara, Dennis grew up with strong values of service and kindness. He completed his education through the 12th grade and went on to serve proudly in the United States Navy, embodying dedication and honor.
Following his service, Dennis built a career as a contractor in construction, working diligently for 20 years. He later made San Diego his home, where he lived for two decades and became known for his giving nature. Friends and family often said he was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.
Above all, Dennis cherished his family. He leaves behind his loving son, Dustin Michael Knapp, who will carry forward his father’s legacy of generosity and strength.
Dennis will be remembered as a man of integrity, compassion, and selflessness. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
